About Matcha List

Who runs this site

Matcha List is run by Japan Matcha Prime, which imports matcha from Japan and sells it to cafes. We started this guide because we spend a lot of time finding places that serve matcha well, and wanted to share the list.

How places are chosen

• Every listing is free. Nobody pays to be listed or to be placed higher.
• We list places whether or not they buy matcha from us. Most do not.
• We don't rank or score cafes. The list is a starting point, not a verdict.
• Each entry is checked against the cafe's own website, Instagram, maps listing or local press, and dated.

News

Each city gets a monthly round-up of matcha openings, new drinks and events. We write the summaries ourselves and link to the original source.

Corrections

If something is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it in the next update.
